Elgin F. Polo, CPA, ABV, CVA is a partner at Kabat, Schertzer, De La Torre, Taraboulos & Co., LLC. Elgin has been in the public accounting profession since 1997.

Elgin is recognized as a court-appointed neutral forensic accountant in both Miami-Dade and Broward County courts, where he also has served as an expert witness in commercial disputes. His civil litigation experience includes lost profit analysis, business valuations, settlement negotiations, purchase or sale of a business and shareholder disputes.

Elgin also specializes in forensic accounting and valuation matters for matrimonial dissolution cases. He works with the separating parties and their attorneys to provide income and expense evaluations, asset and liability analysis, property distribution, alimony and child support computations, client representation in mediations and expert witness depositions.

Elgin provides business and accounting guidance to small businesses in the areas of retail establishments, real estate investments and professional services.

Elgin is a certified public accountant in Florida and New York. He is also a certified valuation analyst, accredited in business valuation and a Supreme Court certified family mediator. He is also an adjunct professor in accounting at Florida International University.
